Diminished triad's interval structure:
Because of d5 it's dissonant chord.
Diminished triad occurs for example at VII degree of major scale. In C major VII degree is B-D-F.
Chord label for a diminished triad is root and dim. For example: Cdim C#dim etc

Augmented triad is dissonant because of A5.
It occurs at III degree of harmonic minor.
Chord label for Augmented triad is root and aug (or +). For example Caug, C+ tai C5#
