Some 7th chords are based on diminished or augmented triads:
m7b5 or half diminished (dim+m7) exists i.e.. on II degree of minor and VII degree of major
dim7 or diminished seventh chord (dim+d7) exists on VII degree of harmonic minor
maj7#5 (aug+M7)exists on III degree of harmonic minor
