Double sharp raises a note by two semitones, or one whole tone.
In this course we'll use symbols C##, D## etc.

Double flat lowers a note by two semitones, or a whole step.
In this course we'll use symbols Cbb, Dbb etc.
Probably the most common double sharp exists in harmonic G# minor scale (F##).
